The 3d International festival of Orthodox and patriotic music “Domes of Arzamas” will take place in Arzamas on July 28 — August 1, 2012. The music contest is organized by the Nizhny Novgorod archdiocese, the Charity Fund dedicated to the Venerable Seraphim of Sarov and the Administration of Arzamas with the blessing of Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Georgy. The festival is devoted to the great orthodox feasts, namely, the Baptism of Russ and the Uncovering of the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov.
The contest asks musicians (soloist singers as well as bands/choirs), to perform sacred and/or patriotic music. The jury is represented by professional performers, musicians, composers and the clergy. The honorable gests of the festival are well-known figures in religion, politics, business and art. The festival has two stages. The 1st stage runs until June 15, the 2nd stage runs from July 28 till August 1.
The awarding ceremony of the “Domes of Arzamas” festival and the winners’ gala concert will take place on the Sobornaya square of Arzamas. The winners will be invited to Diveevo to participate in the feast of the Uncovering of St. Seraphim’s relics on August 1. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia is going to take part in the celebration.
