An annual regional contest themed St. Seraphim’s Teacher started on August 1, 2012. The contest held since 2006 is organized by St. Seraphim of Sarov Charitable Foundation. Teachers of pre-school, school, extended, higher and postgraduate education are asked to participate in the contest, which is aimed at popularization of teaching activities in the sphere on spiritual and moral education.
Application forms and other documents required for participation in the contest in both print and electronic formats are to be sent to a contest committee until October 1, 2012, to the address: 603086, Nizhny Novgorod, Yarmarochny proyezd, 10, St. Seraphim of Sarov Charitable Foundation. Documents in electronic format are also can be sent on e-mail: serafimychitel@mail.ru, a subject of the electronic letter should contain information about a contestant and an educational institution.
Each winner of the contest will be awarded the title “Laureate of the Educational premium of St. Seraphim of Sarov” and will receive a certificate and a gift of money. Some contestants for special achievements in spiritual and moral education will be awarded the title “St. Seraphim’s Teacher” and will receive certificates, lapel pins and gifts of money. The title “St. Seraphim’s Teacher” is awarded ones in a lifetime and is considered to be an analogue of the highest secular educational awards.
The awarding ceremony will take place at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of St Seraphim-Diveevo Convent on January 15, 2012.
